Small Surf but Good Sunset

Made it out to surf tonight after work at Diamond Head.  Checked it at lunch time and it looked really small but clean so I figured it was worth it.  Had some reports from Publics the day before and it was small but clean and some chest high.  So I was hopeful.  Unfortunately it was mostly a float.  Not really much waves at all.  I caught what was available but hard to say it was a surf.  That being said the sunset was great.  Here are a few shots.  Shoot me a report if you have one.

Fun and Clean Town Surf

That was the best the surf has been in town in a while.  Paddled out around 11am today and the South winds had died and their was a bit of a bump in the swell at Diamond Head.  Apparently word got out that it was pretty fun and totally clean because it was pretty crowded.  That being said it was breaking pretty consistent and in a few places so plenty of waves for everyone.  I would call it shoulder high on the sets...maybe a few even close to head high which was a surprise.  No wind at all and just a gorgeous day.  Get after it if you can.

Late South Swell Coming In

The swell picked up since the past 3-4 days this morning but it was not as big as some of the forecast had predicted.  It seemed to be in the shoulder to head high range at Diamond Head this morning.  Unfortunately the trade winds also picked up.  It was strong enough that the conditions were pretty choppy.  It was a bit all over the place with waves doubling up and breaking inconsistently in different spots.  Still got some ok rides but alot more duck diving and paddling then the past few weeks with the winds being mellow.  The swell is suppose to pick up over night tonight and thru wed.
