Little SW Bump

As Guy Hagi said in his surf report, "A little SW bump is rolling into a handful of Town spots. A small bonus for a winter's day."  I got out there and got a few.  It was pretty clean and a gorgeous day again in Hawaii.  When I looked at the report it said that the weather was bad and overcast, I did not see any of that.  It was waist to chest high and pretty clean.  Some long lulls, but if you were patient there were a few fun waves.

Mele Kalikimaka Surf

Merry Christmas to everyone.  Despite reports that the wind was going to die down this morning, it actually seemed as strong.  Now I read that they extended the wind warnings and small craft advisories.

About 8 takers in the water at Diamond Head.  Lots of duck diving, lots of chop, lots of paddling, but could get some if you lined up right.  I would call it waist to chest and there were times where they was a shoulder you could make like this one:

Dawn Patrol and crazy sky

Surf was small but totally fun this morning at Diamond Head.  The tide was really high but there was a little bump in the water.  No trade winds to speak of so it was really clean.  Not too crowded and totally worth waking up early.  One of the coolest things was that we have clouds over Oahu and some showers and the sky just looked awesome....hence the pic.

HAPPY ALOHA FRIDAY

Monday Dawn Patrol at Diamond Head

The reports called for a little south swell bump today and the wind being down.  It was worth it.  Sets were in the shoulder high range and it was one of those mornings along the south shore that the wind was almost non-existent.  It made for glassy conditions and a great way to start the week.  I almost forgot about work.  I got some really fun lefts and rights at Cliffs.  I actually had no problem getting waves from about 7:15am on there was only 5 of us on the outside.  Normal crew was out and it was fun enough that everyone was staying out for more.  I did not want to head in.
