Fun and Clean Town Surf

That was the best the surf has been in town in a while.  Paddled out around 11am today and the South winds had died and their was a bit of a bump in the swell at Diamond Head.  Apparently word got out that it was pretty fun and totally clean because it was pretty crowded.  That being said it was breaking pretty consistent and in a few places so plenty of waves for everyone.  I would call it shoulder high on the sets...maybe a few even close to head high which was a surprise.  No wind at all and just a gorgeous day.  Get after it if you can.

Thursday Morning Surf

Expectations were low this morning since I didnt think there was much swell.  It was an awesome morning out.  Glassy.  Not big.  But toally chill and fun.

It actually was a little crowded at Cliffs which is weird for the morning but I paddled down toward Lighthouse and hit the middle peek.  3 of us for a while.

Reports said a little bump was coming in, nothing like country side, but by the end of the session there were some really fun chest high sets.

Worth waking up.

Relaxing night..and Sunset

The swell seems to all be up in country today.  Reports were it was good and Pipe and other spots were firing.  After a long day at work, the town side was sort of what I needed.  Just totally mellow and an amazing sunset.

I would call it waist high and no wine and just rolling.  Great sunset at Lighthouse.  Hope that everyone had a chill night.  Much Aloha!

Choppy Day at Cliffs

The wind is up for sure.  I knew it was not the best conditions when I saw the windsurfers out at Diamond Head.  Hit up cliffs and the good news was that there was only 3 of us on the outside.  It was really choppy but some shoulder high sets were coming through.  If you stuck it out it was still pretty fun.  Hopefully get some dawn patrol this week where less wind is going to be on it.  I talked to someone that hit up Makapuu in the morning.  Said it was 3-4ft and pretty good.

Swell Still Here

Dawn patrol surf this morning.  The south swell was still hitting for sure.  There were some good size overhead sets that rolled through Diamond Head.

Had alot of fun.  Did get worked a few times but some of that was human error on my part.  It was well worth getting out there though.  Maybe because there was still some solid swell, the crowd was not too bad.  Must have kept some out of the water.  Really not too many of us out there.  Enjoy the pics.

Good week on the South Shore

Its been a good week of surf on the South Shore of Oahu this week.

I was fortunate enough to get in 5 days in a row.  Wendesday was the biggest and I hit Diamond Head.  The reports called for 3-5+ ft.  I would call it head high with some overhead sets.

I ended up surfing at Tongs today for two hours and it was great.  It's a long paddle out on a 7'0" but well worth it.  Clean, and the wind had died down and should to head high sets.

Here is a shot of Diamond Head from Thursday night.
